It will be perfect
for your family at Le Guilleret, many guests absolutely loved it. The
restored beauty of the place, its central location, and our warm and welcoming
hosts had us hooked from the beginning. Le Guilleret is a montreal hotel
that will accommodate your interests perfectly (from grandparents to recent
McGill grad), providing clean comfortable rooms with thoughtful details
and plenty of quiet or social space to relax and have a bottle of wine.
Help-yourself coffee in the mornings, guitar and dancing with the owners'
young daughter, and lovely chats with Naima and Marc made the whole experience
feel like coming home ... only with much more care. Your stay will be
fabulous - representative of the warmth and vitality so characteristic
of Montreal. A lot of guests recommend Le Guilleret to anyone. If you
choose Le Guilleret as your hotel you will not regret it!! The Hotel is
quite beautiful, the rooms are wonderful, very cosy and snug. The personnel
is very nice and helpful! Breakfast was served as of 7am (great for jetlagged
people like us) and is incredible, croissants, bagels, pains au chocolat...
It is huge! Another great point was the fact that the hotel was rather
empty before and for Christmas which means calm but also very low prices
: we paid 68 CAD$ for 2 per night! Less than half of the normal price!
You will definitively stay at the Guilleret if we come back to Montreal!
And the location is just perfect: Old Montreal. Overall, your stay at
this auberge will interesting, and you will want to stay there again. For
a large city, downtown lodging, the price was very reasonable ($95 Canadian
per night)...and it included breakfast. The breads are fresh, varied and
plentiful. Eggs, cereal, coffee, juice, jams, maple syrup, etc were all
available. The kitchen is very well-equipped and outfitted like a restaurant
kitchen. It is such a thrill to be in an old stone building built in 1760.
You could feel the history in it. Given the age of the building, the rustic,
yet contemporary upgrades to it were well done. It was modernized and
yet maintained its' character. The room are small but cozy. The bathroom
was nicely outfitted and supplies, including towels, were provided. A
sitting room on the second floor was very cozy and provides a common area
for people to meet or read. It gives you a place to go outside of your
room. The location was ideal....right in the heart of Old Montreal...The
staff is very friendly and accommodating. Out of all Montreal hotels,
this one is recommend to anyone interested in a B & B, value and old
Montreal charm. While the montreal hotels serve their purpose, this place
has more charm than any of those hotels ever hope to. It was fun staying
in such an old building and being right in the middle of Old Montreal!
It is on a relatively quiet street; not much vehicle traffic noise. Le
Guilleret is one of the few hotels in Montreal who offers free wireless
Internet access, which was a big plus for many! There is also a public
computer you could use in the sitting room. This
Montreal hotel is a restored historic building. The hotel provides a wonderful
and memorable experience. Our reward is when guests express how great the
experience was. You will love the charm of the hotel. Thick stone walls,
real wood beams on 10 foot ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors - this
place is unbelievably beautiful. You can take a room attached to the common
sitting area on the second floor. You couldn't ask for more space. The
complimentary internet service (with a computer, so you don't have to
bring your own). The location in Old Montreal is fantastic, within walking
distance of all the places you want to go to. It is in the heart of the
city's action. Staff is very friendly and helpful, it makes for a very
homey feeling, and encouraged us to talk to the others who were having
breakfast with us - something you don't encounter when you go to a hotel
for breakfast. The price is very reasonable. You will definitely want
to come back to this hotel when we come back to downtown Montreal. It
is a very comfortable hotel and the personnel is charming. Staying in
a historic monument is charming, much more charming than stayin in a big
hotel. The walls are thick and it fells like staying in a castle. Old
Montreal is one of the few places in North America that looks like the
cities in Europe. And there are many activities all year around. Fireworks,
street music, portraits, everywhere ther is cultural activities. Le Guilleret
hotel is also nice because of it's location. You walk out in the part
of Montreal that is the most popular to visitors: shops, cafes, restaurants,
and more.
